Hello and welcome to GCSE Tutoring. My name is Maria, and I've been tutoring students aged 5-18 for over twelve years. I work with students applying to competitive 11+ schools and preparing for the GCSEs and A Levels, as well as homeschooling students, and students re-taking exams.

I am a warm and supportive tutor with twelve years of full-time tutoring experience, working with children aged 5-18. I teach Maths, English, NVR, VR, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. I work with most of my students online, and I am available for intensive tuition weeks in London.
Tutoring should be engaging, and never boring, and I aim to make tutoring something my students look forward to every week. I personalise lesson plans to each student's favourite books and hobbies, from David Walliams to gymnastics. Many of my students have ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, and I am experienced in academic coaching, assisting students in finding study strategies that work for them, and designing tailored curricula for my students to ensure they meet their goals over our course of study.
I provide weekly recaps to keep parents up to date on their child's progress and to maintain clear communication. Homework is essential to a student's success, and I tailor assignments to each of my students to make the most of our lesson time each week.
My aim as a tutor is to give my students the tools to excel in secondary school and beyond, developing a passion for learning that will fuel their future studies. Maths is my favourite subject to teach, and I especially enjoy working with students who struggle in Maths, using gentle encouragement and a flexible teaching approach to develop their confidence and curiosity. I break down complicated topics into easy, bite-sized chunks so my students can build competence and understanding at each stage of the syllabus. For top students looking to achieve the highest level in Maths, I enjoy introducing them to historical mathematical puzzles, stretching and developing their reasoning skills past the confines of the national curriculum.
My 11+ students have received offers from St Paul's, Westminster, City of London Boys, UCS, Merchant Taylors', St Olave's, Mill Hill, Maida Vale, Queen Elizabeth's Barnet, Dulwich College, James Allen's Girls' School, Alleyn's, Whitgift, Royal Russell, St Dunstan's, and Haberdashers, with 15-40% academic scholarships.
My secondary students successfully applied to Rugby, Uppingham, and Clifton.
Last year all my GCSE students received level 8 and 9s, and my A Level students received A*s.
I specialise in online tutoring, working with students in the UK, the US, Saudi Arabia, China, South Africa, and Switzerland. I work with students who are in transition between educational systems, and are interested in attending elite UK schools.
I design bespoke curriculums for homeschoolers to meet their individual educational needs and reignite a love of learning. I have guided homeschoolers through the UK, US, and South African educational systems, as well as coordinating with my students’ learning support assistants, educational psychologists, and other tutors.
